It's for those who have had traumatic experiences in the past, or have people they want to disconnect from, or to detach emotionally from certain people in their life that have a certain hold on them. Cutting cords does not mean those people will leave or stop talking to them. It just means they have no energetic hold on them any longer. It helps in realising you don't have to give your energy away to certain individuals.
